Well decorated and very clean (except for the empty Pringles tub under the wardrobe). Mattresses are very deep. Comfortable but made the bed so high it was difficult to get in and out (we’re disabled). The pillows need replacing as they are so flat and lumpy. 1 small bin in the kitchen is not enough for a week. Luckily we took our own bin bags but there was no instruction on how to sort for recycling and we put the wrong stuff in the wrong bins according to tenant above. Only parking for 1 vehicle and we had 2. Confusion over the zone clock card and the scratch cards resulted in a parking ticket. Parking was close by but pricey at £7.50 for 24hours. Pub on the corner. Shops also in the next street were very handy. Both bathrooms need mirrors for shaving. Windows wouldn’t open. As the ceilings and windows are so high there was a problem with opening and closing the blinds in the bedrooms. We are not 6 feet tall so the only way to reach the cords was to stand precariously on a chair. A lovely touch was the gift crate containing tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and crumpets and a bottle of fresh milk in the fridge. Kitchen had everything needed except for a frying pan and a jug. We cook our own meals but those who dine out or have takeaway won’t see this as an issue. All in all it was a lovely stay and we would definitely recommend and return. The owner came to fix an issue with the heating extremely quickly and we thank him very much for that.

Parking was always possible. The apartment itself, however, in our opinion could do with a few tweeks to improve the standard. There are no mirrors in either of the bathrooms (we noticed from previous reviews that this had been so for some months so we were surprised to see that the situation hadn't changed). The place was also a little dusty - seemingly from some renovations that had taken place, in particular in the bathrooms. Provision of a few tea towels and bin bags would have been useful and it was also quite tricky to open blinds and windows throughout. That said, we had a very pleasant week.

We like the location & normally love this nice little apartment. However we did have some issues this time. Mainly concerning the bathrooms. It looks like they have been refurbished recently. In the en suite bathroom the floor was quite dirty with dust around the skirting boards, a few long black hairs & a wall plug on the floor. Also for some reason there was no mirror in either bathroom. This made getting ready/shaving etc. very awkward & was quite inconvenient. The new shower however was lovely. The rest of the apartment was clean enough & the kitchen well equipped although a tea towel would have been handy. The double bed was firm but comfortable although the quilt didn't seem big enough! When we arrived the apartment was icy cold. The heating wouldn't come on then we realised the boiler pressure had gone below one. We sorted this & got heating but it took ages to warm the place up. All in all we enjoyed our stay & would probably return if mirrors were installed in the bathrooms!
