About this property

Found in the traditional seaside town of Whitby, is this splendid third floor apartment, located just a few minutes’ walk from the centre and overlooking the River Esk that splits the town in two halves. With its modern décor and bright rooms, this apartment is a delight to stay in, and with two bedrooms it is a great size for a small family, or a holiday with friends, with lift access as well for those less able to manage the stairs. After coming through the front door, take off your sandy shoes, and sink into the sofa in the open-plan living space for a well-earned rest, while your other half sets about getting your evening meal prepared for a quiet night with picturesque views of the harbour below at sunset. Moving to the other side of the apartment, you’ll see the fantastic king-size for you to snuggle up in later on, with a wardrobe there for you to hang up your things and make yourself at home, while the twin room down the hall has two single beds, ideal for the kids or extra friends. The well-sized bathroom contains a walk in shower. The property comes with an off-road parking space for one car, and access to the third floor is via the stairs or a lift, so it can be suitable for those with any range of mobility. There is a diverse range of activities and attractions in Whitby, with the obvious choice being a trip to the beach, as Whitby is home to some of UKs best beaches, with Whitby Beach being about one mile walk from the apartment and why not carry on up the sandy shore all the way to Sandsend for a relaxing beach stroll. Recently named Britain’s most romantic ruin, is Whitby Abbey, set on a cliff overlooking the town, holding over 2,000 years of history in its stone walls, home of saints, a king’s burial place and the inspiration for Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, this abbey is a must see for those interested in English heritage. The town is surrounded by the North York Moors and is a haven for walkers with plenty of signposted and maintained routes available for those visiting, with opportunities to hire bikes or explore via horse-back riding as well so there is surely something to suit everyone. Great for exploring the North Yorkshire coast, this apartment will be an excellent home-away-from-home to enjoy with your loved ones as you get to know the scenic town of Whitby.

The coastal Yorkshire town of Whitby is a popular place to holiday in the UK because of its unspoiled sandy beaches and bustling harbour. It has literary connections to Bram Stoker’s Dracula – Whitby being the place that the vampire first comes ashore in the form of a black dog - and is overlooked by the Gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey, which gives the place real character. Surrounding Whitby town is the North York Moors National Park, so for the avid walkers and cyclists there is ample opportunity to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the stunning countryside and scenery.

Great view over the Harbour and just a 10/12 minute walk into Whitby centre. We felt a little annoyed that we couldn't have a little heat on in the evenings, its seems the owner controls the heating by Hive or some such and a couple of the evenings were chilly and we had no way of warming the room. We paid almost £900 for 3 nights and didn't expect to be restricted heat wise.

It was a warm and comfortable apartment with lovely views and just a short walk into the centre of Whitby. It had everything we needed. In the information on the apartment it mentioned 'lift access' as the apartment is on the third floor and as my husband has a bad leg, we thought that it would be beneficial for him. Sadly, we never did find the 'lift access'. Other than that, everything was fine and we were able to manage the stairs.

Before we could shower both shower heads had to be cleaned(caked in black mould) kitchen sink, crockery, cutlery all had to be cleaned too. Bed linen was also “grubby”.
