The Old Barn is situated next to the Scarborough to Whitby road, which winds its way over the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The gravelled driveway provides parking for two cars, and on arrival you are sure to be delighted by the spacious garden overlooking rolling fields and attracting wildlife such as rabbits and deer. There is plenty of seating outside as well as a luxurious hot tub and barbecue, perfect for entertaining of an evening.
Stepping inside this one of a kind conversion is sure to make you feel inspired. The owners have beautifully furnished each room and every detail has been thoughtfully considered, with warm and inviting colours, exposed walls, well laid-out rooms and home-from-home comforts.
The living room has deep high quality sofas set around the wood burner, with glass doors opening out onto the landscaped garden. There are 2 steps from here up to the dining room, leading through to a well-equipped kitchen. Each bedroom is unique and lovingly furnished, enticing you to tumble into bed and become enveloped in soft opulent layers.
Cloughton has two friendly local pubs just a short stroll away. A little further along is Hayburn Wyke, a woodland walk with a waterfall cascading over the cliff top onto a secluded cove. There is an 18th-century coaching inn here, serving hearty meals as well as tasty desserts. Why not treat yourself to some food after a busy day of exploring? The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are scenic walking trails nearby, taking in Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay on the way towards the seafaring town of Whitby.
The North Yorkshire Moors National Park has some delightful little villages amongst the vast stretches of heather strewn hills and valleys. There is also the ancient Dalby Forest which has brilliant cycle and walking trails to be explored. Enjoy the great outdoors and take in your surroundings whilst having the most incredible base to return to, making your holiday one to treasure. Beach 1¾ miles. Shop ½ mile, pub 250 yards and restaurant 520 yards.

Well, it is a lovely place to stay, not if you sleep light though, 6 years and only 18 reviews, I do wonder why people aren't reviewing this holiday let.ProsIt's tidy, it has a hot tub, it's fairly well hidden, it's fairly clean although could do with a proper days cleaning, access to all parts of North Yorkshire is easy, the old Whitby to Scarborough railway track cinder path is five minutes awayConsYou won't sleep, had I known I would never have booked it, all rooms the beds shake with the traffic, again where's the reviews? Honestly the traffic noise is insane and the building shaking even worse, I was up well before 5am daily unable to sleep, I've come home totally knackered, the hot tub gets checked every day, you won't know unless you leave the bathroom naked and someone is stood next to the hot tub, a time window would be great, the shower is rediculously small, I'm ok but if you are over a certain weight you aren't getting in there, the cushions and pillows for the outside furniture were proper mouldy, and there has definitely been dogs thereOverall no I wouldn't go back, I loved the village and vicinity to everything, the noise though OMG

A lovely weeks stay, nice touch of biscuits crisp and bubbly on arrival, the cottage was very clean it had everything we needed and a perfect location for exploring the area would highly recommend
