Town House II is situated in a prime position in Scarborough, just a short walk from the North Bay. All the bedrooms have TVs and en-suite facilities, and the icing on the cake is the enclosed hot tub in the courtyard!
The town and shops are within walking distance with a great indoor shopping centre and lots of boutiques, and for those who prefer the nightlife, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, clubs and a casino. Just around the corner is the Scarborough cricket ground where the famous Scarborough Festival is held each year, an end of season competition featuring Yorkshire County Cricket Club. For those who love a faster sport, there’s Oliver’s Mount racing track with high powered road race bikes. As you walk to the beach you pass one of the entrances to Peasholm Park. Take a detour and walk around the park with its stunning gardens, lakes and waterfalls. There are boats and pedalos, and in summer, a brass band to entertain you. The park is famous for the Naval Warfare Battle where model ships re-enact a battle on the lake. It’s great entertainment for the kids and has been for the last 80 years.
One of the best things about Scarborough is that it has two bays, quite different from each other. The South Bay is a traditional seaside resort with donkeys, amusements and shops, whereas the North Bay is much quieter and more relaxed. Half way between the two bays, the castle stands proud on the cliffs above. You can walk the full length of Marine Drive from North to South Bay and it’s nice and flat making it easy for that evening stroll. If you prefer, there are the open top buses that run along the seafront. At the far end of North Bay is the Sealife Centre and the open air theatre, one of the largest outdoor theatres in Europe where international acts play during the summer.
Further down the coast is Filey, Flamborough and Bridlington. The rspb bird sanctuary at Bempton is worth a visit where you can see puffins in their natural habitat. North of Scarborough are the beautiful North York Moors, and Whitby, a bustling fishing town famous for Whitby Jet Jewellery and the Goth weekends. You are only an hour away from York, a beautiful medieval city where you can visit the Railway Museum, take a leisure cruise on the river or walk the city walls which surround it. Beach 700 yards. Shop and restaurant 200 yards, pub 400 yards.

We found the house tidy, but we moved 1 of the couches so we could all watch the tv ,could not believe the the dust and dirt underneath, also the throws on the couches were covered in dust and dog hair ,we did wash them, even though this should of been done before we arrived, it is a lovely big house with plenty of room ,also the hot tub wasn't clean and no one came to check the water or put any solution in ,which we thought was strange, I would probably go again, but not at the price we were charged ,its definitely not luxury! , as advertised, it is a nice big house though, I think maybe you should change the cleaning company

This is advertised as luxury accommodation but it is nothing of the sort. We reported a long list if issues during our stay but nothing was done to try and sort any of them out. For a start the bathroom light wasn't working in one of the bedrooms but at least they left us a battery light. Most of the mattresses had seen better days and were uncomfortable but the worst thing was that some of the bedding absolutely stank and we had to wash it after the first night. Also we requested a travel cot but there wasn't a mattress or any bedding with it. One of the gas rings didn't stay lit and beware of the fan oven as it totally incinerated part if our meal the first night. The WiFi is sketchy at best and doesn't extend to the whole house. There was a leak in one of the bedroom ceilings which looked like it had been there for sometime. The worst thing about our weekend here was that a toddler in our party picked up a bottle of bleach that didn't have the safety cap properly fitted. Thankfully the toddler just poured into a running bath before we spotted it, but it could have been far worse. On this latter point we raised an official complaint and are still waiting for a response from the owner.

We have just had a lovely week staying in the house. The house itself boasts six bedrooms all with en-suites over the two upper floors. The equipment e.g crockery, glasses and pots and pans were all more than adequate. The white goods all looked new and the fridge freezer was a really good size for us. We did have trouble with two of the gas rings not staying on but it wasn’t too much of a problem . The supplies that were left for us e.g hand wash, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets were bonus. Regarding the hot tub, ventilation seemed to be a problem. It was difficult to dry the room out after use. Clearly the door needs to be open while the hot tub is being used. But overall we enjoyed the house and would definitely recommend it.
