The setting is lovely - a wonderful place to relax and with the bonus of a restaurant but sadly only at weekendsIt is not cheap and there are a few silly things, given how much you pay e.g. 1 toilet roll for the week; no cleaning materials, insufficient cutlery and crockery - I found that for me, a couple would have been washing up all the time; very small fridge, but massive dishwasher; lots of rugs that have a tendency to curl up at the edge and are a trip hazard; insufficient bins so you have to go to kitchen bin to dispose of anything which is a pain; bedroom could be arranged better - very little space at side of bed makes it hard to get in/out and doesn’t make the most of the river view. A big thing is window blinds which are see through and. with a light on you could be visible to anyone outside - not what you want in a bedroom particularly.Good bread, eggs, butter and milk on arrival very welcome I would go back because the setting is so lovely but it does make it expensive if you don’t use the bikes or boat and with the decor issues

I would highly recommend Clematis Cottage.. The view from the patio decking is lovely, there’s lots of bird activity both on the river and in the trees. The cottage has everything you need, we were left a very generous welcome pack. The food in the restaurant is to die for. ( open Friday, Saturday & Sunday)would definitely return.
