This delightful, Edwardian terrace cottage rests between the bustling cities of York and Leeds, situated in the village of Church Fenton, where you will find all the local amenities. This heart-warming retreat comes with everything you could possibly need during a week-long break with loved ones and is within striking distance of a superb range of attractions to suit a family of all ages and tastes. Upon entering the property, you are welcomed into the brightly decorated sitting room, where you can look forward to curling up on the sofa and tuning into the TV, whilst the woodburning stove gently fills the room with warmth during a winter's evening.
Joining the sitting area is a well-presented dining table, where you and your loved ones can tuck into a delicious, home-cooked meal that was prepared within the kitchen. The designated chef of the group will be delighted to find a contemporary-style kitchen which houses all the essentials you could need to cater for yourself throughout your stay. As the evening draws to a close, venture up the staircase to retire to one of the three well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a king-size double, a standard double and a single bedroom. Each bedrooms offers a tranquil space to wake up to each morning, as well as ample storage for housing your personal belongings.
To the outside, there is ample road-side parking and a rear patio with garden furniture to enjoy during the summer months. Itâs well located, clean and is fully equipped. We loved using the log burner. Itâs really close to our family so will definitely be back in the summer.

The cottage is absolutely beautiful and has clearly been kitted out to a very high standard. The setting is very peaceful but also close to the station for easy access to the surrounding area. My children were really pleased to discover that there were Christmas decorations up (the host had contacted me to ask if they'd like that, which was very thoughtful). The village has a well stocked shop and an Indian restaurant and a pub. I'd suggest booking if you want to eat at the pub, as we found it fully booked when we tried. We will definitely stay again.

The proximity to the train station and a few minutes ride on the train into York and Leeeds is an advantage, especially if you've tried driving through and/or parking in York. Church Fenton has a pub with great food, a local shop, and an Indian restaurant. Neighering vilages alos have good pubs, but finding somewhere open on a Monday night can be a bit of a challenge. Mallard cottage is comfortable accommodation for a family of 3-4 people. It is well equipped and mainatined to a high standard, and warm too.
