The cottage enjoys a countryside surrounding, displayed from the rear garden, while in proximity to the local harbour, making it the perfect base for exploring both the country and coast; the cottage welcomes five guests, offering flexible sleeping arrangements and partial ground-floor living. Make use of the open-plan living space, where you can rustle up some hearty meals, dine as a family, and relax in front of the woodburning stove, before heading outside for some peace and quiet. The ground-floor also houses the bathroom, along with a super king-size (zip/link) bedroom, for convenience; by climbing the stairs you'll find two further bedrooms, including a king-size with TV, and a single. Within walking distance, you'll arrive at an array of village amenities, including The Whitby Crab, Cod & Lobster, and The Endeavour as dine-out options, along with a convenience store. A delight for artists, Staithes is a quaint, peaceful seaside town with cobblestone streets and narrow alleyways. A secluded sandy beach is nestled among the rocky shoreline, and the town's charming homes and cottages are grouped around the historic harbour and bordered by high, jagged cliffs on three sides. The community can claim ties to Captain Cook, who served as an apprentice to a draper close to the harbour. Today, Staithes, which boasts a decent selection of pubs, shops, and tea rooms, is a must-see for anyone travelling to the Yorkshire Coast. There is still a rnli lifeboat station in Staithes, along with a small fleet of cobles (fishing boats) that land fish, crab, and lobster. Boat trips are also offered for fishing, birdwatching, and even whale watching. Old Jack's Boat, a well-liked BBC children's television programme, is also filmed there.

We had such a relaxing time, enjoying the charming places on the east coast. The hamper was delightful and so thoughtful. The information pack was helpful and full of useful details.
