Guests say

Field House is a quaint cottage in Hinderwell, appreciated for its homely charm and ideal location for coastal walks and exploring the Yorkshire coast. Guests have enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen and the convenience of local amenities, including pubs and a regular bus service.

Reviews indicate some concerns with dampness and cleanliness, such as stained carpets and areas needing TLC. However, one review mentions the property being 'clean and tidy,' suggesting inconsistency in this aspect.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to local attractions, good food, and scenic walks along the coast, making it a favourable base for exploring the area.

Mixed feedback on comfort, with some guests finding the main bedroom comfortable, while others report issues with uncomfortable furniture and a cramped room. The presence of a repair garage causing noise is also noted.

Facilities are noted to be lacking, with reports of a non-working radiator, lack of freezer compartment, and issues with heating control. The well-equipped kitchen is a positive, but overall maintenance concerns are evident.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Had a lovely stay in the Cottage, everything as described on booking.Heating took a while to heat through, not surprising with the weather, soon warmed up. Did a couple of walks along the Cleveland Way to Staithes & Runswick Bay. A day in Whitby, including The Abbey Illuminations.Would recommend & definitely revisit. Lovely little village.

The house felt damp when we arrived as the thermostat was set at 15 degrees and windows were open (at the request of the owner when you leave)Furniture in lounge was uncomfortable and the single bed has seen better days as the metal bars in the base were bent. The pull out bed didn't have a headboard and so pillows get pushed against the windows. Thus room is too small for two adults to share. The main bedroom was comfortable.Kitchen was was well equipped. There is a repair garage behind the house with some noise and an unmade car park.As mentioned by others there is no blind in the bathroom and when standing to use facilities you can wave to the mechanics in the garage.Good location for site seeing and good food at the Runswick hotel.Strongly recommend the Fox and Hounds for food and atmosphere. Cheap fuel at the local garage.
