About this property

Bellevue is a delightful pet-friendly house resting in Newtownabbey, County Antrim. Perfectly positioned for families and friends seeking a memorable getaway, offering sea views, an open-plan living space, providing a welcoming base for exploring Northern Ireland. After pulling into the off-road parking space, the first thing you’ll notice is the property’s elevated position, offering sweeping views across Belfast and the glistening lough. The house sits beside the historic Belfast Castle and is just moments from Abbey Centre, making it perfect for a vibrant city break or a longer stay as a central touring base, with the motorway close by for easy access to Northern Ireland’s most scenic routes.

Step inside through the front door into a welcoming hallway, where a striking red feature wall and tiled flooring create an immediate sense of style. Pops of colour and vibrant artwork continue throughout, adding character to the contemporary finish. From here, move into the heart of the home: a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. French doors frame the panoramic views and open onto a large patio, ideal for alfresco dining or simply soaking up the scenery. The kitchen is designed for culinary creativity, while the dining table invites you to gather and share stories. In the living space, a large wall-mounted TV promises relaxed evenings after days of adventure.

Beyond the main hub, a snug room offers a playful retreat for children or a quiet corner for reading, while a practical utility room keeps holiday essentials in order. The ground floor also features a comfortable king-size bedroom to rest and rejuvenate. Climb the staircase to discover a spacious bedroom family room with two king-size beds, perfect for flexible sleeping arrangements, and a sleek bathroom complete with a bath and separate shower for indulgent moments. Another double bedroom enjoys its own en-suite, providing privacy and comfort. From the family room, step onto the balcony and let your gaze wander across the sea views, a serene backdrop for morning coffee or evening sunsets.

Outside, the enclosed garden and patio create a haven for outdoor living, while the surrounding area offers endless opportunities to explore. Belfast Castle’s manicured gardens and woodland trails are right on your doorstep. Venture into Belfast city centre to uncover Titanic Belfast, an immersive experience that tells the story of the world-famous ship, then wander through the Botanic Gardens and marvel at the Palm House before exploring the treasures of the Ulster Museum. For a scenic escape, follow the Causeway Coastal Route to the Giant’s Causeway, where dramatic basalt columns rise from the sea, cross the exhilarating Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, and pause at Ballintoy Harbour for rugged coastal beauty.

Alternatively, head towards Lisburn to browse boutique shops, delve into the heritage of Irish linen at the Irish Linen Centre and Museum, and relax in Wallace Park with its ornamental gardens and family-friendly spaces. Bellevue combines a prime location, stylish interiors and unforgettable views, making it the perfect choice for a city adventure or a touring holiday in Northern Ireland.

Enjoying fantastic views over the Ryburn Valley, the sleepy Hamlet of Norland provides an ideal base for those wanting to explore the delights of West Yorkshire and beyond.
The area provides a quiet hideaway from the hustle and bustle of a busy city, but with a rail link 1.5 mile from the hamlet, there is easy access to the centres of both Leeds and Manchester and the vibrant night life that they offer.
Strike out to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park. Closer to home would be Saddleworth Moor and for the brass band enthusiast amongst you the Whit Friday band marches are not to be missed, the location of which is a scenic drive away. This event was featured in the film “Brassed Off” with Pete Postlethwaite and Ewan Mcgreggor.
The Ryburn Valley and the adjacent Calder Valley are nearby and have become a focal point for the TV and film industry over the last 10 years, with many productions being filmed in the local area. Author Sally Wainwright was born in Sowerby Bridge and as such many classic TV dramas are filmed in the town. Some of these are Happy Valley (police station featured in this is approx. 1.5 mile away!), Last Tango in Halifax, Gentleman Jack, and Ackley Bridge. Why not visit some of the iconic locations and see where the action all happened?
The surrounding areas also provide a wealth of culture and diversity from Halifax itself and its 18th-century Piece Hall, Shibden Hall, the home of Anne Lister, Eureka the National Children’s Museum and the Halifax Industrial Museum. Wainhouse Tower is a tall folly, open to the public on bank holidays, where you can climb its 300 or so steps to get a fantastic view of the local area. The National Sculpture Park at Bretton Hall, the National Coal Mining Museum for England and the National Media Museum in Bradford are all also within easy reach from Norland.

The Piece Hall has also become a hub for the arts and now hosts major concerts with headliners such as Tom Jones, Blondie, Bryan Adams, Nile Rodgers, Jess Glyn and Status Quo to mention a few.
Sowerby Bridge Station has regular trains to Leeds, Manchester, York, Hebden Bridge, Blackpool and Liverpool, for a day at a hotspot, whilst horse riding, climbing, swimming and canal boat excursions are all available within a 5-mile radius of the hamlet.

Enjoy the best of West Yorkshire with a holiday in Norland.
