About this property

Nestled a stone’s throw away from the heart of the village of Belleek in Northern Ireland’s County Fermanagh is 25 Old Station Road. This riverside cottage sleeps up to six guests across three bedroom and boasts wonderful feature such as a conservatory overlooking Belleek Marina, a large garden with decked area, garden furniture and pond with stunning views of the River Erne and a central location, making it a wonderful dwelling for a family getaway to Belleek. After a busy day exploring the countryside or the famous Wild Atlantic Way, snuggle up on the plush corner sofa while the TV plays and the open fire roars in the background. As the designated chef whips up a tasty meal in the fully-equipped kitchen, plan your itinerary for the trip at the dining table and marvel at the panoramic views over Belleek. Later in the evening head outside with a glass of wine in hand to soak up the last of the sun while watching the boats dock in the marina. When sleep calls choose from one of three bedrooms; there is a double with en-suite bathroom, a twin and a bunk room serviced by a family bathroom. Be sure to get some well-earned rest before another busy day. The centre of Belleek is just a short walk from the cottage and houses a few shops to ease your self-catered stay, The Lemon Tree Coffee house and a few local pubs including The Fiddlestone and The Black Cat Cove which are great for the nights when you don’t fancy cooking. The village is an idyllic spot for riverside walks or boat trips to the nearby town of Enniskillen where you can traverse the historic castle and immerse yourself in local history at its two museums, whilst being a angler’s paradise for salmon, trout and pike fishing. Belleek Pottery is also a must-visit, just a short walk away from Marina House, sitting upon the picturesque bank on the River Eme. The town of Ballyshannon is just a short drive over the border, as is Bundoran with its sandy beaches, favoured by avid surfers, and views over the sea; the kids will be sure to love Waterworld and Bundoran Adventure Park which are also in the town, along with local surfing lessons. Various golf courses are also a short journey away, including Lough Erne resort, a previous host to G8 summit, whilst nature fans can take to Fermanagh Lakelands, by hiring a boat and travelling towards neighbouring villages. Choose 25 Old Station Road as the base for your next Northern Irish adventure.

Belleek, a tiny village in Northern Ireland's County Fermanagh, is officially the most westerly inhabited place in the United Kingdom. Located on the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, the village has its own marina with space for up to sixteen boats thanks to the River Erne running through it. Close to the marina is the village proper, where you can find groceries and a few good drinking establishments like the Fiddlestone and the Forge. Visit the nearby town of Enniskillen to learn about the area's history at the impressive Enniskillen Castle Museum, which overlooks the River Erne, or to peruse the eclectic array of shops in Buttermarket courtyard, which features a cafe, boutiques, and art galleries. Another option is to travel across the border to the stunning Bundoran Beach or the Rougey Cliff Walk, both of which offer breathtaking sea views.

However the furniture and decor was rather tired and dated, some of the furniture quite worn. There were lingering smells from the bathroom (drains?) and kitchen area (burnt/frying oil etc). And some of the basics were lacking - information/instructions not readily available, only a used sponge for washing up, no bags for waste/recycling.

However for a 4 star rating for us it fell short in several areas. We would have thought a hair drier and coffee machine were a must and a welcome pack and fuel for the fire a good gesture. Also, no instructions on how to use things, no details of local amenities or facilities were provided and where or what to visit. How about a supplying a folder for visitors? Lastly, and most important, a local contact in case of an emergency like an accident or illness should be provided. Unlike previous properties we've used these points were very disappointing and took the edge off our week in a lovely area.

It states that the property is on the right off main street. Which it is not .It should state turn left at the flower basket shop and then turn left again after the recycling centre and then property is located in the cul de sac . Also there was no lnfo related to refuge bins . Also no fuel or information on central heating as stated because it dropped cold during our stay .A welcome pack is always a nice touch as we have experienced in previous accommodation we have booked with sykes. However on request as our ferry was cancelled they left us a pint of milk. Also as non smokers there was a strong smell of smoke as we entered the property which lingered through out our stay .
