Guests say

Pat White's Cottage in Newry, County Down, is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and stunning location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, the pet-friendly environment, and the warm welcome from the owners. The cottage's remote setting offers peace and beautiful views, although the approach road's condition is noted. The property's charm and modern comforts make it a recommended retreat.

The cottage receives consistent commendation for its spotless condition, with multiple guests highlighting its cleanliness, which is particularly appreciated in the current climate.

The location is celebrated for its beautiful views and tranquillity, with direct access to the mountains and proximity to local attractions. The condition of the approach road is a concern for some, but the seclusion and scenery are seen as worth the journey.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of comfy beds and a cosy wood stove. However, a few guests noted the mattresses could be improved, slightly affecting the score.

The property is well-equipped for self-catering, with a well-stocked kitchen and thoughtful touches. The mention of upcoming road improvements suggests attention to maintenance. However, the lack of mobile phone signal for some carriers and the final stretch of the approach road slightly lower the score.

While the reviews reflect a high level of satisfaction with the thoughtfulness of the owners, there is no specific mention of gifts, and therefore, it cannot be guaranteed. As such, the score is set to null.

The cottage was well presented kitchen, bathroom, beds were all very clean. Had everything you'd need and all worked well. The stove was great as it was cool inside at night. We didn't find the roadway up to the cottage too bad, just the last stretch approaching the house was loose gravel track. On the negative side I didn't find the mattresses in the cottage with green door that comfortable. I do suffer with back problems sometimes. The big bed in the end room was not level and was very hard and springy. Had sore back next morning. Moved to the other room and the mattress was a bit better but not great. This might not bother some. If you are bringing pets be careful on the lanes. I had 2 dogs. One of mine got really spooked by a big tractor and got out of his collar as I was holding him at side of road. He nearly went under it but I managed to grab him by the neck. Got a terrible fright. Would have been so much easier if farmer had just stopped for a few seconds and let me walk past but he just kept coming I had to yell for him to stop. The yard is fenced well but there is no gate to the lane, I kept my lurcher on lead all the time as she would easily jump the fence and there are livestock nearby. So many lovely places to visit nearby here, kilbroney park and Mourne mountains were amazing. Lovely restaurants and bars in rostervor. The rostervor inn had lovely food. Everyone was so friendly as well. Hope to get back here again sometime.

Totally relaxing! Woke up to cows in the front yard/pasture and sheep in the back yard/pasture every morning. Cottages have everything you need for a pleasant stay.

Overall we had a relaxing time there but didn’t realise it would be so remote.
