The settlement of Tarland is located near the Cairngorms National Park in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The settlement is located in the Howe of Cromar, which also contains the major community, Tarland, as well as Logie Coldstone, Coull, Ordie, and Migvie. This unique region of Scotland has a lot to offer hikers and naturalists, is rich in history, has one of the best instances of a recumbent stone circle at Tomnaverie, and there is proof of habitation dating back 6,000 years. The community is home to a convenience shop, a tavern at the Commercial Hotel, a top-notch golf course, and the gorgeous Drummy Woods, where the Tarland Mountain Biking Trails are located.

Very peaceful yet close to the amenities of local towns/villages. Excellent walking area right on the doorstep. Even had a red squirrel visit one morning an unexpected but delightful experience. Would have no problems revisiting.

Particularly the master bedroom suite which is the best I have ever stayed in. Views great. Towns of Aboyne, Ballater and Banchory within easy reach for restaurants etc..
