The cottage is beautifully furnished with antique furniture and complemented with period-correct colour schemes from Mylands Paints of London, renowned for their work in the UK film industry, including sets for James Bond, Harry Potter and many more. The wood surrounds and doors are original from when the house was built over 100 years ago, adding to the authentic and nostalgic atmosphere.

Enjoy leisurely walks along the Cairnbulg harbour or explore the sandy beaches and rock pools nearby. The owner of the cottage (Joann) was excellent. Nothing was too much bother for her. She is a very friendly lady and very easy to talk to. You can see that she has put a lot of thought and love into everything in the cottage. It was lovely to come back to the cosy cottage after being out in the Scottish weather. A first class retreat.

Really nicely appointed cottage, and Joann was really helpful as host.Cairnbulg is very quiet as should be expected, but is close to so many beautiful spots Fraserburgh beach is stunning as is St Coombs, or further away Cruden bay and new Aberdour well worth visiting

Beautifully done up cottage with so many thoughtful touches to make a stay more comfortable. Excellent facilities throughout including very handy "washroom" with washer, dryer, hose (very handy for cleaning sandy dogs) and clothes pulley. Only point to note for anyone planning to bring food from home is "fridge-freezer" is a relatively compact under counter fridge with 1 freezer shelf. Lovely setting in Cairnbulg - only a couple of minutes walk gets you onto the coastal path and just down the road from Maggie's Hoosie which is well worth a visit. Great base to see the North East. Amenities wise it's a beautiful coastal village so only has a small shop (and an awesome ice cream shop - Peters Ices) but you have plenty more amenities in Fraserburgh (10min drive). Would definitely recommend :)
