The cottage is in a great location to explore the surrounding area. While there we explored Aberdeenshire as far South as Stonehaven for the 50th anniversary Highland Games, as far inland as Balmoral Castle in Deeside and as far west as the Dolphin centre Speyside in Moray. We sat and watched dolphins and seals at Aberdeen Harbour, explored the beautiful towns/villages of Banff, Gardenstown, Pennan, Findochy, walked to the ruins of Slains Castle and the Prop of Ythsie, enjoyed plenty of ice creams from Pete’s ice cream shop in the village of Cairnbulg and visited so many lovely cliffs and bays. Supermarkets Tesco and Lidl are an 8 minute drive away in Fraserburgh. The cottage is well kitted out, the beds extremely comfortable and the location perfect. It also has a separate freezer and washing machine - very practical. Aroma pies and Harbucks are worth looking into and visiting when in the area. Strichan (the home of Aroma Pies) also has an excellent family butchers shop. J.G Ross have locations in lots of areas for tasty baked goods. A fantastic 2 week break for us.
