Great Charleston House holds a wonderful position within the village of Torphins, conveniently located for those wishing to explore the wonderful Royal Deeside and Aberdeenshire region. While a selection of helpful amenities can be found in the village, the city of Aberdeen itself is just a forty-five-minute drive away.
Originally dating back to 1898, the home has been lovingly updated with elegant interiors throughout and all the modern amenities guests could possibly need for a fabulous stay. Comfortably sleeping up to twenty-four guests across its eleven bedrooms, Great Charleston House makes an excellent setting for a family reunion or special occasion break. The ground floor offers plenty of entertaining space for the entire group to socialise between the drawing room, family room, games room and dining room, as well as the kitchen, fully-equipped with all the tools guests could possibly need to create a delicious meal. The eleven bedrooms are set across the two upper levels, there are a variety of double, twin and triple single rooms, a number of which boast en-suite facilities, while the remaining rooms share the use of two family bathrooms.
Outside, after action-packed days spent exploring the magnificent surrounding area, there is no better place to relax than in the 7-seater hot tub, heaven! The outdoor seating and charcoal barbecue make dining al fresco a breeze.
Great Charleston House is situated in an excellent position within Aberdeenshire, set in the village of Torphins, helpful amenities, including shops and restaurants, are reachable on foot. The town of Banchory is just a 10-minute car journey away, here a wider variety of amenities can be found. The city of Aberdeen is just 45-minutes away, with its rich culture and history it is well worth a visit while staying at Great Charleston.
There are several historic castles within forty-minutes of the house, these include: Craigievar Castle, a pink fairy-tale castle just fifteen minutes away, Drum Castle, one of Scotland’s oldest tower houses and of course the famous royal estate of Balmoral. Crathes Castle is just twenty minutes away, here there is a Go Ape, a fun high ropes course with daring crossings and exhilarating zipwires, a must visit for those without a fear of heights!
