Nestled within the tranquil woodland setting of Glenesk Holiday Park, Lily Pad Lodge is a charming two-bedroom retreat overlooking a serene central pond where ducks and other wildlife make their home. This welcoming lodge is ideal for couples or small families seeking peace, comfort, and the chance to reconnect with nature.
Inside, you’ll find a light-filled open-plan living and dining area, tastefully furnished for relaxation after a day’s exploring. The fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering simple, while the two cosy bedrooms, (one double and one twin) comfortably sleep up to four guests. Large windows and a private decking area frame calming views of the pond and surrounding woodland, the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee as the sun rises or a glass of wine when it sets.
Guests at Glenesk Holiday Park can enjoy a range of on-site amenities including a children’s play area, café, gym, and sauna, all just a short stroll from the lodge.
Beyond the park, the charming village of Edzell, a mile away, offers independent shops, welcoming cafés, and the historic Edzell Castle, surrounded by its beautiful walled garden. The much-loved Blue Door Walk begins near the park, winding along the banks of the River North Esk through ancient woodland, gorges, and waterfalls, a must for walkers and photographers alike.
For those drawn to the outdoors, Edzell Golf Club provides a picturesque 18-hole course, while local lochs and rivers invite anglers to try their hand at catching trout or salmon. The nearby Cairn O’ Mount offers breath-taking views across Angus and is a favourite for hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers.
History enthusiasts can explore Dunnottar Castle, dramatically perched above the North Sea near Stonehaven, or visit the Angus Folk Museum for a glimpse of traditional Scottish rural life. And for a taste of local craftsmanship, the Fettercairn Distillery offers whisky tours and tastings just a short drive away.
Whether you’re relaxing in the lodge, wandering through forest trails, or discovering the many charms of Angus, Lily Pad Lodge is the perfect base for a peaceful Scottish escape.
