The charming red sandstone village of Kirriemuir is located in the Strathmore Valley and is known as the entrance to the Angus Glens, which feature some of Scotland's most pristine scenery. The National Trust for Scotland maintains JM Barrie's birthplace in the town, which is now a museum dedicated to the author of the beloved children's figure Peter Pan. In the town, there is a statue of Peter Pan. The famous Pictish Stones at Meigle and Glamis Castle are also found in Kirriemuir, and the Angus Glens are a fantastic area for hill trekking and mountaineering. There is something here for every taste thanks to the town's and area's superb selection of stores, lodging options, and bars.
