This stunning detached property sits in an elevated position in the grounds of the owners’ land and working farm in the Angus countryside. Commanding magnificent views towards Montrose Basin, a land locked estuary at the mouth of the River South Esk, renowned for its bird and wildlife sanctuary. The property has been a recent barn conversion and tasteful décor and attention to detail is evident throughout. An ideal house for family get-togethers, visitors have use of a private hot tub in the garden as well as access to the peaceful walks around the farmland surrounding the property.
Located just 4 miles from the centre of Montrose and a couple of miles from the nearest shop and pub, there is plenty to discover in the area. Glorious sandy beaches in Montrose, Lunan Bay or St Cyrus are wonderful for bracing walks or playing in the sand. Montrose Basin is a renowned Nature Reserve and Wildlife Centre and in the winter, thousands of pink footed geese make a spectacular sight taking off in the early morning to feed in the surrounding countryside. Away from the coast are the Angus Glens which form the foothills of the Grampian Mountains with myriad walks and trails to be discovered. Golf, tennis and a leisure pool are in the town itself, or further afield the cities of Dundee and Aberdeen are almost equidistant and have plenty of shops, eateries and theatres for an alternative day out. Beach 3 miles. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 2½ miles.

This was our 4th time staying at The Steading. It is a beautiful house, a home from home. It has always been spotless. It is in a perfect location where you feel far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet with beautiful views but close enough to the local town, which has everything you require. The large enclosed garden is perfect for our dogs to be safe in the hot tub is an added bonus. The owner stays next door and is extremely helpful with anything you need. Would highly recommend a stay here 😊

We had a lovely holiday at the Steading. There were 6 adults and our boxer dog. The house has fencing all around the garden/ parking area which was ideal for our dog to have the freedom to wander and play outside. The house was well equipped and very clean and the hot tub was as amazing. One of our party has very limited mobility but this house was brilliant for her as the car could be parked near the flagged walk way, no steps into the house, had a downstairs bedroom and shower room too. The only issue we had was the step was too deep to get into the shower, bought a duck board and a non slip bath mat all good after that as we brought a shower seat from home, Hope that the fireside chairs will remain in the house as these were ideal for our party member. We decided after 2 nights that we are coming back, so we booked again for next year. It is a little hard to find but once you find it, it’s worth it!!!
