A beautiful detached cottage overlooking Loch Linnhe on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Port Appin, Ardtur Croft enjoys complete privacy set in its own enclosed garden accessed via a private driveway. There are magnificent views from the cottage over surrounding farmland and the sea, towards the Island of Lismore and beyond to the Morven Peninsula. A comfortable and spacious cottage, you will find yourselves gathering in the bright open-plan kitchen/diner, chatting round the kitchen table or on the comfy seating in front of the cosy wood burner, enjoying the views to the sea over the field. Port Appin is also home to two of Scotland’s most prestigious eating places, so you can walk along, sample local seafood and a drink without taking the car. There’s a licensed community run store and gift shop in the village too. Within a few miles of the cottage, there is an excellent choice of cafes and inns, all offering breath-taking views and delicious local food a renowned garden centre and a garage. A short ten minute walk down the road is Aird’s Bay, a horseshoe shape and peaceful shore being shallow some way out so ideal for safe swimming. There is much to attract the historian in the region as the mysterious events surrounding The Red Fox, immortalised by Robert Louis Stevenson took place in this locale so you can explore some of the locations in Kidnapped. The hillwalking and mountaineering opportunities in the area are spectacular with Glencoe within easy reach and numerous opportunities to climb a Munro for those who are ambitious. There are gentler walks round the coast or inland, including a walk out to stunning and historic Castle Stalker at low tide. You can hire bikes locally and explore the area via the cycle path which runs from Oban to Fort William passing through Appin. Despite its tranquillity, Port Appin is conveniently located. Beach 1 mile.

NO parties please There are elderly neighbours either side so night time noise should be kept to a minimum. Two well behaved dogs are welcome at a charge of £40 per dog. Please do not let them go on the sofas and keep them on a lead around livestock.

We had an excellent stay at Ardtur Croft, it was well equipped and very cosy. Melanie was very responsive and made sure all our needs were met, it's worth confirming the bed set up before arriving - it was listed as having one room with twin beds but when we arrived it was combined into a double. Luckily the cleaner was still there and was very helpful in turning it back into a twin. The smell that some reviews mentioned wasn't an issue when we were there. Would highly recommend!

We have stayed in many cottages in Scotland and this by far was our favourite. Beautiful home and had everything you could ask for and more, we felt totally spoiled!The house itself is stunning, beautiful finish to every room and so comfortable too.The welcome pack was gratefully received and the wealth of information about the local area and beyond was so helpful.Our daughter loved playing the piano which was such a treat when we saw it and I particularly loved the wifi speaker in the kitchen (now on my Christmas list.)We wouldn’t hesitate to book Ardtur Croft again, we loved the walks, especially the loop (Toby dog recommends) and walks to the Pierhouse Hotel for drinks. The local shop is within easy walking distance and stocked everything we could need.We travelled to Fort William, Glencoe and to the Glenfinnan Viaduct to watch the ‘Harry Potter’ steam train arrive. The property is perfectly situated for all these trips and more and the drive up from Glasgow is both straightforward and stunning too.Great communication from Melanie and John was fab, very helpful before and during our stay.Can’t actually say enough about Ardtur Croft, the photos don’t do it or the area justice.Oh and if you book, I highly recommend ordering fish from Iain and collecting from the Pierhouse, it was absolutely delicious.We will be back!

A lovely, clean, cosy cottage set in a beautiful location overlooking Loch Linnhe. The cottage has plenty of room with four double bedrooms and three bathrooms. The kitchen was the heart of our stay. The wood burner in the lounge made for a perfect cosy evening, and the games, DVD’s and books kept everyone amused. The attention to detail and the homely touches made our stay comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable. This part of Scotland is stunning with so much to see and do, the cottages location meant everything Scotland has to offer was easily accessible.We will definitely book this cottage again. It’s just too good not to!!
