Beautifully renovated by the owners in 2021, and all on one level, this mid-terraced property has a pretty cottage bedroom with comfy double bed, a modern welcoming living room leading to a stylish wet room with walk-in shower, and a compact kitchen with a breakfast area, fully equipped to allow you to self cater with ease. A door from the kitchen leads into the enclosed garden, with a sitting-out area, barbeque and cycle store, enjoying lovely rural views. Perfect as a base for exploring the hills, woodlands and coastlines of Argyll, it is quiet and rural, yet conveniently close to the A85 for easy access to Argyll attractions. Ideal for walkers and cyclists, it lies close to the rural lane network forming part of the National Cycle Route 78, which stretches all the way from Oban to Fort William and also leads to the stunning Glen Lonan to the east, Kilmore and Loch Nell to the south and Connel to the north.
Taynuilt village centre is just a 2-minute walk and has a general store, a post office, a butchers, a hairdressers, a café and a craft shop. it also has a railway station, a 9-hole golf course and sports ground. There are two pebble beaches at Airds Bay and Kelly’s Pier with fantastic views of Loch Etive and there are two historical sites of interest within the village, Bonawe Iron Furnace and a memorial to Admiral Lord Nelson. Cruachan, The Hollow Mountain Power Station is just 5 miles distant. You’re also close to the beautiful inland Loch Awe, which offers fishing, boating and fantastic forestry walks through nearby Glen Nant. You can reach the busy west coast town of Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, in just 12 miles’ drive either along the main road (A85) or through enchanting Glen Lonan. It has an interesting selection of shops, bars and restaurants. You can also catch a short ferry trip to one of the Inner Hebrides, including Mull, Staffa and Iona.
This interesting area has an abundance of wildlife with golden eagles, basking sharks, porpoises and otters often seen. Explore ruined castles, beautiful gardens, and sites of historical interest. In less than an hour, you can be exploring the mountains of Glencoe to the north or Inveraray to the south where you can visit Inveraray Jail and Auchindrain Museum.
Outdoor activities in the area include diving, sailing, kayaking, horse riding, golf, mountain biking and fishing. Glencoe and Aonach Mhor in Fort William are easily accessible and also offer popular walking, mountain biking, climbing and skiing. Beach 2 miles.
