Cot Cottage in Castle Douglas is a well-equipped, beautiful lodge that offers peace and tranquillity in a rural setting. Guests appreciate the stunning views, spacious accommodation suitable for large groups, and the added luxury of a hot tub and barbecue. While the approach road is noted to be bumpy, the charm of the cottage and its surroundings more than compensate for this minor inconvenience.
There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score.
The lodge is praised for its beautiful setting and peaceful location, with great views and proximity to other places of interest, despite the bumpy approach road.
The lodge is generally considered comfortable with spacious living areas, though there is a mention of an extremely uncomfortable bed and ill-fitting blinds in the master suite.
The property is well-equipped for large groups, with a hot tub and barbecue being highlights. However, there are minor issues with a dishwasher and televisions, which slightly affect the score.
There are no mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide a score. Please note that while gifts are a delightful surprise, they are not guaranteed.

House was fantastic, views brilliant. Slight problem with the dishwasher as bottom drawer didn't roll properly, approach road up to the cottage rather bumpy, televisions seemed to come on by themselves. We had a great family holiday and the hot tub was a particularly favourite with all.

Lovely large cottage set in beautiful surroundings.

Cot Cottage was excellent, it more than met our expectations. The rural location and it's five ensuite bedrooms and open plan living areas were ideally suited for our family holiday. The children could play safely outside and we all enjoyed the barbecue and hot tub. There were a few anxious moments negotiating the farm track up to Cot Cottage on arrival but all three vehicles managed with a bit of care. I would certainly use Cot Cottage again.
