Horsepark Cottage is situated in south west Scotlands beautiful Galloway surrounded by beaches and mountains a short distance from Gatehouse of Fleet with numerous places to eat and drink. Rural location but with high speed internet.
A delightful rural cottage that comfortably sleeps couples, families and groups up to six people. Horsepark Cottage is a delightful Galloway cottage, located only a short walk from Carrick beaches and islands The wood burner in the spacious living room and the conservatory overlooking the garden are particularly attractive features of this holiday cottage.
Whilst in a delightful rural location, the property is only 3 miles from the charming town of Gatehouse of Fleet, offering a wide range for places to eat and relax. There are many attractions in and around the town including the Mill on the Fleet Visitor Centre, Cardoness Castle, and the Cocoabean chocolate experience and play area.
The area has numerous walks available, from scenic coastal walks to forest trails. With sailing, swimming, riding, fishing, golf, boat trips and water sports are close by, there is sure to be something for everyone. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, there are many beautiful gardens to visit, including Threave Gardens (NT). Close to the Galloway Forest Park and central to 5 of the 7Stanes, it is a popular location for cyclists and mountain bikers.
Only a very short drive away, Kirkcudbright, known as ’the artists’ town’, attracts visitors throughout the year drawn by the harbour, the historic high street and the diverse range of annual events and visitor attractions. The popular programme of summer festivities culminates with the spectacular Tattoo, an event not to be missed. Beach 1 mile (Carrick Bay) Shop, pubs and restaurants 3 miles.. 1 step to entrance.

Very comfortable and spacious cottage in a peaceful location. The cottage had everything we needed and was a pleasure to come back to after a long day exploring the countryside and local towns.

We visited as a family of four with two teenagers! A well equipped cottage with plenty of much needed space! Beds are very comfortable - we all slept well! The location is rural which suited us as the peace and quiet was welcomed! We appreciated our four legged neighbours- cows, sheep and the rare beauties - the badgers who visited each evening! We believe there to be at least 3! Lots to do in the area we planned well and explored each day! The Isle of Arran was a wonderful experience- it’s a bit of a drive but was enjoyed by all! Good comms with the owner before arrival which was super helpful! We had excellent weather all week and would highly recommend this lovely cottage to visit this beautiful area!

Our immediate impression was just how clean and tidy the lovely little place was inside! Everything whispered a kindly welcome as we explored the various rooms. We thought we were going to like it here...in fact, we loved it. There's nothing much around, save a caravan park a mile down the road and the silence of the Scottish countryside is broken only by the sound of sheep and cows contentedly grazing the pasture. The facilities are excellent with an unusually-good provision of pots, pans, cook's knives, cutlery and crockery. The area is pretty much undiscovered and truly a hidden gem, whether you like walking or browsing. We've only ever driven through this area, so denying ourselves the opportunity to get to know the beauty of Dumfries and Galloway. We've discovered a new special place.
