A very comfortable and spacious house with delightful hosts. The Smithy is warm and well equipped with a gorgeous garden for our use.New Galloway has an excellent community shop just up the road and is an ideal base from which to explore the delights of Dumfries and Galloway.

A second wonderful stay at The Smithy for our family. This house is such a fabulous place to relax, unwind and get away from it all. Andrew and Margaret are great owners who are available locally if you need anything and provide such a warm welcome. The property has everything you need, both in great weather and in bad, for a comfortable stay. The local community shop is perfect and the staff are friendly. Further afield we visited Wigtown (for books), Kirkcudbright (market and culture), Rockcliffe to Sandhills (tough coastal walk), Threve Gardens, Raiders Road, the wild deer and wild goats, and more. A fabulous holiday (again!). You will love the Scottish pasta too!!!
