A lovely bespoke Lodge, one of two, set in this beautiful Valley. Although very rural, the lodges are just 10 minutes from the town centre. A ferry discount can be arranged with the owner.. 2 steps to entrance.

Our first stay at Alderneuk and we had a wonderful holiday for our Wedding Anniversary. The Lodge is so clean, comfortable, well laid out, spacious and well equipped and exceeded all our expectations. We met Host Wilma who has been most kind, helpful and welcoming from start to finish with easy communication by email and text. The Welcome Pack was most appreciated thank you, together with the attention to detail shown. The Lodge has beautiful views from all windows and is in such a quiet and peaceful location. We had a good walk locally in the hills. We love Dumfries and Galloway so revisited many favourite places. A new adventure for us this time was “The Nearly Lost Gardens of Arbigland” which are amazing. They cover 24 acres and are being loving restored. We met Wayne there who is one of the owners and his dedication, knowledge and hard work is truly admirable. We look forward to future visits to Alderneuk and Arbigland. Thank you very much again and best wishes.

Excellent lodge in a rural setting but only 5 minutes from Dumfries. Plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area. Wilma the host is so helpful and friendly and the welcoming pack in the lodge was a personal touch. This is our 2nd summer at these lodges and hopefully it won't be our last. Definitely recommend a stay here.
