Burnfoot is located in a tiny village on a dead-end road, but there are two supermarkets and a convenience store within a ten minute drive. Dumfries is fifteen minutes away and is well worth visiting. The River Nith runs past Burnfoot, and a gate in the garden opens onto a footpath along the river. The property has four king-size beds, one single and three twin rooms, with an Aga keeping the kitchen warm and a log-burning stove in each of the dining and downstairs living rooms. Our group had a lot of space to spread out, opportunities for long walks and some good star-gazing nights. The kitchen had everything you'd need for cooking for a large group and an efficient dishwasher to deal with the aftermath.

The cottage was a great size for a family weekend. It is a little tired and could do with some TLC - however, Christine was very accommodating and we felt really warm and cosy in the house. Would definitely return!

Ideal location. You are in the middle of the countryside but within a 5 minute drive of Dumfries. The property was large and comfortable. It gave a homely feel.
