Guests say

Burnside Cottage in Dumfries offers a tranquil and homely retreat with attentive hosts. Guests appreciate the well-equipped accommodation, ideal for those with mobility difficulties, and the peaceful location. The property's thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts and a well-stocked kitchen, add to the charm. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience is highly recommended for exploring the local area.

Guests have not raised any concerns regarding cleanliness, suggesting the property is well-maintained. The mention of a clean and comfortable environment supports a high cleanliness score.

The location is praised for its tranquillity and proximity to Dumfries and local attractions. However, the mention of a busy nearby road and lack of close amenities slightly affects the score.

The property is described as comfortable and quiet, with a special mention of a superb wet room. A comment about the bed being low and small suggests a slight deduction in the comfort score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially for those with mobility issues. However, initial TV issues and a leak, as well as inaccessible outdoor features due to building works, indicate room for improvement in maintenance.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing welcome gifts and essentials. It's important to note that such personal touches, while delightful, may vary and are not guaranteed.

On arrival the 2 TV's weren't working. After a couple of days this was rectified. I was woken at 4am with water dripping on my head from a leak in the ceiling. The place is cluttered with leaflets, yes they are places to visit. But could of been contained in a folder. Too much personalised stuff around e.g. mountains of Aston Martin magazines. An indoor water feature that was full of algi. On a whole just to much. More like his home than a holiday home.

Fantastic accommodation throughout. The owners are kind, considerate and very helpful, on arrival Rob gave lots of local information and recommendations. There's everything you need in the apartment, very well equipped.Just one thing, it wasn't possible to access the decking and the lovely Japanese bridge which goes over the burn which is located at the rear of the property if using a disability aid due to building works at the side of the property, but still a very enjoyable break 😀
