Crack open a bottle of wine and take the evening outdoors to the decking, as you sit peacefully on the outdoor sofas, taking in the beautiful views of luscious green Scotland. Make your way back inside and retire to the well-decorated double bedroom with a pretty brass bed and delightful checked accessories or escape to the peaceful twin bedroom with crisp white bedding, decorated with traditional tartan bunting and cushions.

Start your day with a luxurious soak in the bathtub or with a rejuvenating wash using the overhead shower in the family bathroom. When ready to explore the surrounding areas, start with a trip to the nearby town of Dumfries where you can wander the galleries of the local museum and cross the striking Devorgilla Bridge, before absorbing history at famous poet Robert Burns' house. Hop on the train and head to Castle Douglas to explore the historical Threave Castle and Victorian Gardens, before heading back to Dumfries to see the enchanting Twelve Apostles Stone Circle. Ideal base to explore Dumfries and Galloway. Theres a walk into Mabie woods from the site which is great if you have dogs with you. The owners are lovely and respond quickly to any questions. Sykes advert says fridge, it would have been helful to know its a fridge freezer. Lovely welcome from the owners with a bottle of fizz, shortbread and dog treats. Thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay here for the week. Have and will recommend to others, Julie, Pam and pooches.

Lodge was great, had everything you might need apart from maybe a hairdryer. But I ha taken my own as it wasn't mentioned in the description. Beautiful views from the patio doors with sheep & cattle visiting daily. Lovely array of wild birds, even had a lesser spotted woodpecker. Situated quite close to Dumfries for shopping etc. Lots of lovely restaurants, the best being the Steamboat Inn, Carsethorn Dumfries. DG2 8DS, a bit more expensive, but well worth it. Also Loch Arthur farmshop & cafe...wonderful place. We'd definitely return to Lusa Lodge if we came back to the area.
