An ideal holiday home only a few yards from the water's edge in an elevated position in the attractive sailing village of Kippford. The cottage is the upper part of a traditional over and under cottage with a lovely sun trap garden to the rear which has views to the river over the cottage, there is level access to the cottage by the bridge from the garden, note that there are one or two steps on the path from the roadside parking through the garden. The cottage apartment is spacious and has superb views especially from the living room bay window over the River Urr to the hills of Bengairn and Screel.
Country walks are on the door step with the Jubilee Path leading over National Trust for Scotland land to Rockcliffe, with its sandy beach just over one mile away. Two pubs in the village, both of which serve food are within a short walking distance while the beach at Sandyhills and forest walks are a short drive away.

This is the fourth time we have stayed in the past year so we must love it. It's very handy for walking all around and the views are perfect. I still have a problem with the bath which is difficult to get in and out of. We were disappointed because there was no milk or biscuits otherwise the perfect place.
