We loved our stay in this beautiful part of Scotland in a cosy cottage in the centre of Kirkcudbright. The welcoming basket was full of thoughtful treats and Alan is an excellent host, who could not have been more attentive to making our stay enjoyable. The little town of Kirkcudbright is a gem; quiet, interesting, friendly and so well cared for ( not one piece of rubbish and lovingly tendered gardens). There are beautiful walks close to the town and many interesting places to visit, including the artist Hornel’s preserved house and garden just round the corner from the cottage.
