Moffat, a small town in the Annandale valley, grew from a village in the 17th century into a spa town due to the belief that the sulphurous waters of Moffat Well had curative powers. The existing Town Hall was initially built as a Bath House, and many other buildings in town also date back to same time period. After walking about 1.5 miles into the countryside from the town, you'll reach the original well. Moffat's rise to prominence wasn't limited to its status as a spa town; the wool trade and its role as a transit hub on the routes between England and Scotland also played significant roles. The main bedroom with en-suite is just right.Very good for 2 adults. The second bedroom has bunk beds and a single bed which would be fine if you had children but we would not find it suitable for adult guests. Loved the fridge beeping if you didnât close the door at once, and the security number for the front door and key safe for the apartment door. Perfect location a stones throw from the high street. Would stay again if coming to Moffat.

Great to have two bathrooms for the four of us. Moffat was a lovely town and easy access for surrounding areas.

Reality. It suffers from years of neglect. The shrubbery and flower beds are overgrown with weeds and what lighting within the flat remains working provide a maximum illumination equivalent to 40 watt. The apartment was very cold. The underfloor heating is either cut off or not working. 2 out of 3 safety doors do not fasten nor does the shower room/toilet door. There are other faults in the shower room, bathroom and kitchen.
