Bel-Mar is a lovely holiday cottage set on a working farm close to the Isle of Whithorn and has the most fabulous views out across Wigtown Bay. Bel-Mar is spacious and comfortable with stunning views from almost every room so whether you are just relaxing in the living room or enjoying a family meal in the dining room you can make the most of the view. The conservatory is a lovely sunny spot to while away a few hours reading or just enjoying the heat of the afternoon sun.
Bel-Mar is a lovely peaceful location yet close enough to explore the magic of this delightful area. There is a wealth of things to do while you are here and is ideally placed to explore everything this delightful corner of south west Scotland known as The Machars has to offer. The Isle of Whithorn, only 3 miles away, is an attractive little harbour village on the Machars Peninsula where you can enjoy a meal in the village pub and restaurant. Visit Wigtown, which has officially been designated as Scotland’s National Book Town with a wide range of book related businesses, a book lovers haven. The larger town of Newton Stewart known as the Gateway to the Galloway Hills, also has many excellent shops and places to eat.
With the Galloway Forest and Dark Skies Park close by, Bel-Mar is ideally placed to enjoy your stay whether it be a relaxing or action packed adventure. Enjoy the rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf stream. There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world renowned Logan Botanical Gardens. The area boasts many pretty little ports like Sandhead, Portpatrick and the rspb Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. The area is also perfect for walkers, golfers and cyclists. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

The host was very welcoming and the house met all our needs and more , with additional extras that we maybe had forgotten these were all provided. It was great to also have a welcoming package as we had forgotten milk. The house itself was spotless and fresh, we had two young children with us, which the host provided a travel cot and highly chair which was so good not to have bring them ourselves. The house had a Christmas tree in the reception lounge and also in the entrance to the house which we really appreciated with the kids. The house was warm and we had access to all the amenities. Over all we had an amazing time and Christmas with the family. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bel-Mar Cottages! The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The property is quiet, close to the water and perfect for relaxing. Hazel was warm, responsive and made check-in super easy. Would definitely stay here again.
