Guests say

Culquhasen Cottage is a peaceful retreat embraced by nature, offering a huge garden, stunning views, and a hot tub. Guests have praised the comfortable beds, ample space, and the tranquility provided by the surrounding wildlife. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience is one of relaxation and comfort, with a welcoming host and a well-stocked venue.

The property is described as clean and comfortable. However, there was a mention of a nearly full outside bin on arrival, which could attract flies. No other negative comments about cleanliness were made.

The location is appreciated for its seclusion and peacefulness, with beautiful views and proximity to the sea. However, one review mentioned it being a bit out of the way for family activities, especially with dogs.

Guests have highlighted the comfortable beds and the peaceful environment conducive to good sleep. The spaciousness and the presence of a hot tub also contribute to the high level of comfort experienced by visitors.

The property is well-stocked and offers a range of facilities including a hot tub. Some maintenance issues were reported, such as a mirror falling off the wall and less sturdy door handles, which suggests room for improvement.

While guests have mentioned a welcome pack and treats for the dog, it is not clear if these are standard offerings for all visitors. As such, while these gestures are appreciated, they cannot be guaranteed for future guests.

We really enjoyed our week here. The cottage had everything that we needed (and more!) and the beds were so comfy. All the appliances were great! It was incredibly peaceful with just the sound of the cows, the babbling brook and the trees whistling in the wind. The garden was huge and perfectly safe for our two spaniels. The view from the garden of the cows, sheep and to the sea beyond is something that will stay with me forever. Sandy was the perfect host, left us to it, but was on hand when we needed him. Loved it.

Wow, what an amazing house. Plenty of room to be sociable (or anti social, if you want). The house is at the end of a .75 mile farm track. So secluded & peaceful. There’s only the birds & cows to listen to. There was a much appreciated welcome pack, including treats for the dog, who celebrated her 4th birthday here. The beds are so comfortable. I had the best sleep ever, due to complete darkness & no noise outside I loved sitting on the bed looking at the views over the cows & sheep, to the sea, across to the Mull of Galloway. There was lashings of hot water & plenty of towels. Cleaning supplies were provided for every eventuality. I loved sitting in the farmhouse kitchen, in the easy chairs, next to the Rayburn stove, which unfortunately wasn’t on during our visit. Farmer Sandy was friendly when we saw him, but didn’t intrude on our holiday. The hot tub was an added bonus. There’s so much to this farmhouse that makes it incredible value. Hopefully we will be able to return in the future.
