This was our third stay at the Cottage in Garlieston, and once again everything was perfect. It truly feels like a home away from home, and the consistency and care put into the place never disappoints. During our stay, my wife and I and daughter and son-in-law enjoyed a wonderful walk along the cliffs to Whithorn Bay, taking in the stunning coastal scenery, and we even had the memorable experience of feeding the nearby red deer.We finished our trip with a visit to Sorbie Tower, the historic home of Clan Hannay, which made the stay even more special. Steve, who is helping with the tower’s renovation, happened to be there and kindly gave us a private tour, bringing the history of the place to life. An unforgettable stay once again — we can’t wait to return.

A lovely weekend break at the cottage. It was a bit chilly when we arrived as I think we may have been the first guests for a few weeks. Soon warmed up with the lively log burners though. Cottage is very well equipped. The rooms are all comfortable. Excellent bedding and towels etc. The village is quiet with a nice cafe and pub. Plenty of lovely walks just out of the door. Communication with owners very good too. I imagine it is even better in the summer months.
