The Seaview Retreat enjoys the most peaceful of locations with stunning views towards Wigtown Bay. Quietly set on a working farm, The Seaview Retreat is comfortable and cosy and has been refurbished in 2021 with the delightful living room making the most of the stunning views. Outside, the patio area with its garden furniture and wood fired hot tub is the perfect place to sit and relax either enjoying the sun or indeed best of all the dark starry skies at night!
The area surrounding The Seaview Retreat is breathtaking, from the rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches, to inland The Galloway Forest Park, Britian’s largest forest park with 300 square miles of wild beauty and where you will find the world renowned 7Stanes Mountain bike trail at Kirroughtree. A short 5-minute drive from The Seaview Retreat will take you to the Isle of Whithorn, an attractive little harbour village where you can sail, fish or just sit and relax overlooking the bay while perhaps enjoying a meal or glass of wine in the pub or tearoom. Visit Wigtown, which has officially been designated as Scotland’s National Book Town with a wide range of book related businesses, a book lovers haven. The larger town of Newton Stewart, known as the Gateway to the Galloway Hills, also has many excellent shops and places to eat.
Further along the coast you can visit many pretty little ports like Sandhead and Portpatrick, or visit Scotland’s most southerly point, the rspb Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve, where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer.

The owner upgraded us from the pictured holiday home to a nicer home nearer the working farm, which also had a hot tub and nicer fittings and amenities. But this was a surprise. We booked the holiday home site for the distance from the farmhouse and view of the sea - both of which were not as nice in the other house we were given. I would have preferred that this second property be listed separately and given the choice of where I stay. Listing is managed by automation which is very chatty. I just ignored it and texted the number given for receiving the key. Allison was kind and helpful. I was very happy communicating with her.

We had an amazing and peaceful weekend away at the Seaview cottage!! Allison offered us an upgrade with an electric hot tub which was surreal, we even had some visitors (the cows) sticking their heads over the walls coming to say hello from time to time. The cottage was immaculate and we felt right at home straight away, even outside had the most beautiful scenery. Allison also left a little folder full of local shops and restaurants which was very helpful! My only flaw would be that the wifi isnt the best, however, that is to be expected while being so rural. Overall we had the most amazing time staying in the Seaview cottage!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Peaceful location with stunning views. Upgraded from caravan to cottage free of charge which made the trip that much better. Our 2year old was in his element on the farm, making friends with all the cows and watching the tractors. would highly recommend this place to all our friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful trip!
