Darvel, in East Ayrshire, Scotland, is a charming town between Kilmarnock and Strathaven. With its lace industry booming in the 1800s, this picturesque town earned the nickname "Lace Town" and gained international recognition in places like India. Comfy beds and well stocked with everything you need. Loved having the fire on in the evenings. Lovely rural location, so it was very peaceful, but not too far from places to visit. Hope to visit again

We love the size and the fact that it has four bathrooms. It's peace and quiet for us and the surroundings are stunning. It's off the beaten track but is just wonderful with plenty of drives to explore the surrounding areas. The wood burning stove is a plus too. There are however, some issues with the cottage that I have highlighted in the book that's left. One of the living room door handles was stiff, you can't turn off the TV in the living room with the remote, the TV in one of the bedrooms doesn't work and the shower is cold. But otherwise, it has everything you need for a perfect holiday

Both myself and my partner, my elderly parents, my sister, niece her partner and my 8 mth old great nephew had a wonderful time in this very spacious home. Three bedrooms on the ground floor, one with en-suite, meant no stairs to for them with the ready of the property mostly on one level. Lots of areas you could sneak off to and be on your own if you wanted. The property is surrounded by farmland with loads of sheep and lambs and the only noise we heard was them.
