Located in the centre of the delightful conservation village of Falkland next to the historic Falkland Place, Key House is just perfect for friends and families to spend time together. Dating back to 1713, Key House has been refurbished sensitively as befits its category B listed status. Originally called the Palace Inn, the marriage lintel above the front door bears the initials TM and KK - possibly those of the builder and his wife. Relax in front of the log-burner in our cosy lounge after a day exploring the historic buildings, quaint alleys and charming gift-shops of Falkland. You’ll sleep like a king in our comfortable bedrooms, especially after taking a walk through Falkland Estate. Make sure you pop into the Estate Stables where you’ll find a welcoming café and a shop stocked with a wide variety of locally-made gifts.

Key House is ideally located for exploring the local area and beyond, with the wide sandy beaches and rocky headlands of the East Neuk of Fife within 30 minutes’ drive. Walkers will love the Coastal Trail which takes you along the shore to old fishing villages with fabulous sea views. Fife is ideal for foodies with Michelin-starred restaurants complemented by award-winning fish and chip shops, as well as numerous farm shops and farmers markets showcasing the best produce the area has to offer. For days out Perth, Dundee and Edinburgh are all within easy reach with the railway station in nearby Ladybank offering regular links. We loved this quirky house with it's nooks and crannies! What a privilege to stay in such a historic property. It has a very well appointed kitchen and plenty of bathrooms for everyone. Beds and living areas were very comfortable. The location was amazing, right next to the Palace (visible from the kitchen!) and we enjoyed walks in the estate and around Falkland's many gift shops and cafes!

The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable but the xterior of house was shabby and did not give a good impression.Lighting was poor, heating and hot water had issues in that only managed three showers before water ran cool. The range of glasses in kitchen could have been better.
