Immerse yourself in Falkland’s fascinating history by exploring the magnificent Falkland Palace, one of the National Trust for Scotland’s premier locations. This Renaissance gem with it’s Royal Chapel, historic paintings, tapestries and hangings, extensive gardens and grounds is well worth exploring. Then why not take an idyllic stroll along the West Port past the village fountain to the famous Falkland Estate. After just a few minutes you will enter an enchanting landscape where there are many country walks to choose from - pick up some maps and guides from the converted Stables building which now also houses a cafe and a small art gallery. Look up to East Lomond - or Falkland Hill as it’s known locally - with the knowledge of it’s Pictish past and the impressive Hillfort which once sat on top, dominating the local landscape.

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was amazing. The village of Falkland is beautiful, there’s plenty of little shops to get bits you need and Moncrieff house is out of this world! We did have an issue with the remote for the TV but this was resolved that day, the customer service was excellent! I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting with family or friends. There’s plenty of room! We will be back!

Stunning house, easy access, beautifully decorated and very spacious. Fully equipped kitchen. Very comfortable beds. Fabulous Roper Rhodes bathrooms with great showers and fluffy towels. Very warm throughout the house, we visited end of Jan. The house is even better than the pictures. Falkland is a great location with its stunning palace cafes and a restaurant plus amazing walks through the estate. Falkland is also well located to access St Andrews, Edinburgh, Perth and Stirling. Would definitely return to this property. Cottages were brilliant to deal with, easily contacted by phone and super helpful through the booking process.
