From the photo it looks like you get a house (upstairs and downstairs) but it isnât. The house is a ground floor flat. You hear every step the upstairs neighbours make. Wouldnât have come here otherwise. Tv doesnât move at all, so you can hardly view it. Dirty used kitchen sponge from last guests left with no new sponges, no bin bags for our rubbish, no cling film, tin foil or washing up tablets for washing machine. Freezer was completely frozen and couldnât shut the door, so we had to de-thaw it. The shower head pipe is coming loose from wall which is a health and safety hazard and needs to be fixed. Was scared it would come loose and fall on our head. Heating and hot water very temperamental and the hot water controls are from what looks like are from the 1950s - not good enough when youâre paying your hard earned money. The house needs to be properly updated. Canât open any windows in the kitchen or bathroom because of plexiglass over the top. So you canât get any fresh air to let steam out when youâre cooking, or showering. There is then mould growing on the bathroom window which is very dangerous and a health hazard. No blind in kitchen or living room so the neighbours can see in when they go round the back of the house. Lock on front door is really hard to open. Parking is also difficult as the kirb isnât a dropped kerb and itâs on a busy road.

I really enjoyed my stay and felt rested. A few very minor details would have made it a 5 from me. For example - I found the shower was difficult to work out getting the temperature right and I think other people had too as the attachment to the wall was slightly loose and needs a wee repair probably caused by trying to turn the control knob which seemed a little bit stiff and just needs to be adjusted slightly. Loved the ceiling drying rack after a couple of rainy days - nice detail. I found some of the most beautiful walks with the most amazing views around Monkswell Woods which I discovered by just heading up the hill and exploring. Breathtaking views over the river and worth the effort - good for the soul.
