St Andrews Links is the largest public golf complex in Europe and teeing off here immerses you in 600 years of sporting history. After youve played a round or two, sample a whisky or some freshly-caught seafood in one of the many bars and restaurants on offer, before strolling back to your apartment close by. For those looking to explore the rest of the beautiful county of Fife, youll be rewarded by traditional fishing villages dotted along the coast, not to mention historical sites such as the splendid Falkland Palace & Gardens. Situated in the north east corner of the Kingdom of Fife, St. Andrews is Scotland's oldest university town and is well known for its varied landscape of gentle hills, windswept cliffs, rocky bays and sandy beaches on which scenes from the film 'Chariots of Fire' were shot. Easily explored on foot, the town is spread around a main hub and consists of an interesting mix of buildings from 13th Century examples to those from the present day. The town offers a variety of shops and restaurants whilst golf enthusiasts will be well served by the 'Old Course' â constructed in the 16th Century â and the modern venues of championship events and the five alternative public courses. The area is also home to an excellent Golf Museum. Within easy driving distance are the towns of Fife, Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh.

The cleaner was also very apologetic and even brought us shortbread as a thank you for our understanding. As I told the owner, we should always expect mistakes could happen, but it is the way in which they are managed after discovered that matters most. Both the owner and the cleaner were incredible!

It was very warm and cosy (we were there in a very cold December). The kitchen was very well equipped with everything one could possibly need. The location was handy for the town and all amenities. Overall, an excellent stay.
