Excellent rural location which was perfect for exploring the region and there are many sights within a short distance. Comfortable bedrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. Bathroom with shower and bath but if you are having a shower make sure no-one uses the taps downstairs at the same time as it stops the flow in the shower. Didn't really use the large living room as the weather was so good we sat outside all the time. It was fantastic to sit there watching the birds flying over the fields and the cottage. Our dog loved the garden too which is fully enclosed. Couple of points to bear in mind - not great for walking the dog as at the end of the drive is a main road. Were told we could use the fields but even with blazing hot weather there were muddy and wet patches - take your wellies! Also it is a working farm. We were woken up on one occasion at 1am by a tractor working in the cowshed opposite the cottage. On another occasion we were woken up by a vehicle driving up and down the drive at 4am.

The Ploughman’s is a lovely cottage set in a farm. The accommodation is comfortable and well maintained, the kitchen is well equipped for cooking, there is parking just outside and it is well situated for getting around the local area. There is plenty to do locally no matter what your thing, you are close enough to Glasgow and Edinburgh, but also Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and other outdoor activities such as hillwalking and cycling. Only downside was being pretty much straight out on to the main road so you needed to drive to go to somewhere to walk. A fab place to stay. Peaceful and comfortable.
