About this property

Doire An Daimh is a detached, single-storey holiday home set in the Scottish Highlands, offering a calm and well-placed base for families, couples travelling together or small groups keen to explore this scenic part of the west coast. Surrounded by open countryside and within easy reach of everyday amenities, the property combines a relaxed layout with practical features for an enjoyable stay. Inside, the kitchen is well equipped to support self-catering breaks, making it easy to prepare meals using local produce. Adjacent to this, the dining room provides a comfortable space to gather for breakfasts, shared suppers and planning the day ahead.

A separate utility room adds further convenience, particularly after days spent walking or exploring the area. The sitting room features a woodburning stove and offers a welcoming place to settle in during the evening, while the conservatory provides an additional living space where guests can relax and enjoy views across the garden, whatever the weather. Sleeping accommodation is thoughtfully arranged to suit a variety of groups. There is a king-size bedroom with its own coffee station and en-suite walk-in shower room, along with two double bedrooms. These are served by a spacious family bathroom, complete with a corner bath and separate walk-in shower.

Outside, a lawned garden with a picnic table offers space for outdoor meals or a quiet moment in the fresh Highland air, while a private driveway provides parking for up to three cars. The village of Acharacle has a shop and pub within walking distance, making it easy to pick up essentials or enjoy a meal close to home. The local take away is called East To West and at night serves homemade meals, by day offers take away selling coffee, cake, breakfast and lunch. The surrounding area is rich in opportunities for exploration, with nearby settlements such as Salen, Dalnabreac and Glenborrodale offering access to woodland walks, coastal views and chances to spot local wildlife.

The Ardnamurchan Peninsula is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, quiet beaches and walking routes, while boat trips to spot seals and dolphins can be found along the coast. Doire An Daimh provides a peaceful and well-located base for discovering the beauty, wildlife and slower pace of life found in this memorable corner of the Highlands.

The village of Acharacle is situated on the West coast of Scotland on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. The village sits at the western end of Loch Shiel, close to the village of Salen on Loch Sunart. The area is surrounded by wonderful wilderness, and is steeped in history including strong links to the MacDonalds, Lords of the Isles. The village itself has a village store and a small bakery as well as a fish and chip cafe, small hotel with public bar, restaurant and a Post Office close by. Within a short drive there are quality hotels offering good food, and an array of outdoor activities. Why not try some sea-kayaking at Glenuig Inn, who offer full or half day trips into the Sound of Arisaig? Combine this with some bird spotting, with golden and white-tailed eagles nesting close by, or perhaps simply put on your boots and walk some of the wonderful pathways in this area. Ardnamurchan has some lovely sandy beaches just waiting to be found and you can even take a short ferry trip across to the Isle of Mull.
