Please note: Even though garden is fenced, beyond the fence there is access to a loch. So beware with children and dogs.. A solid wood lodge cabin set in 15 acres of private croft land. This secluded lodge on a quiet country lane in the hamlet of Doll near Brora is set at the side of its own small loch stocked with brown trout (guests may fish free of charge). For guests looking for an authentic Highland log lodge cabin experience Lochside Log Cabin will not disappoint.
Located in the hamlet of Doll, near Brora in Sutherland. Just a couple of miles off the NC500 route. Brora is 60 miles north of Inverness, just over an hour drive, Dornoch is 16 miles south of the lodge and Wick is 45 miles north, making this a great spot for relaxing and taking time to explore the NC500 route.

Stayed there early January and was greeted with two feet of snow so walks and exploring was limited, however, the cabin is great and Alan was always on hand if needed, the dogs loved it , will definitely stay again

Oh we had the BEST two weeks at Lochside Cabin. What an absolute dream of a place!! The cabin itself is very cool, super comfortable, and really does have everything you need. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the veranda watching the birds, bats, and deer who visited daily. The dogs LOVED the space. I think they massively enjoyed the peace & quiet. But they were also very happy galloping around the enclosed garden and also exploring the land around the cabin. This was a dream come true as my dogs are nervous & not great around people or other dogs. So to know they were safe & secure to explore was quite honestly priceless.The local area is brilliant for shops, cafes, ice cream, beaches, walks, etc... And you're in the perfect position for the East side of the NC500 as well as further south like the Dornoch area and the Black Isle. Lairg & Strathpeffer were a new highlight for us. The hosts are lovely - fresh flowers & shortbread waiting for us to arrive - and very easy to communicate with. Yes, we would 100% stay again. Honestly could not fault any part of our stay. And I am already trying to work out when we can go back. Thank you for our wonderful holiday.

We had a fabulous week weather was great and the view of the loch from the decking was unforgettable there was an added bonus of a wood burning hot tub which was absolutely fabulous once we had worked out how to get the fire going properly our mistake. It’s a great base for travelling around if you can bring yourself to leave the view and hot tub To sum it up it was perfect
