Paye House in Cromarty is a well-loved, characterful cottage praised for its comfort, warm atmosphere, and prime location. Guests appreciate the property's historical charm and find it a welcoming base for exploring the Northern Highlands. While some minor maintenance issues and limited Wi-Fi connectivity are noted, the responsive caretakers and the cottage's overall appeal contribute to a positive experience.
The property generally maintains good cleanliness, though some guests noted areas for improvement such as floor cleanliness and kitchenware. The presence of dog fouling in the garden on one occasion suggests occasional lapses.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to local amenities and the waterfront, offering a perfect base for exploring the highlands and enjoying the village's charm.
Most guests find the house comfortable and cosy, with a few remarks about the adequacy of heating and bed comfort. The overall sentiment is one of a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Facilities are generally appreciated, but several guests reported maintenance issues such as boiler noise, ineffective radiators, and kitchen equipment needing updates. The provision of outdoor seating and more robust Wi-Fi would enhance the experience.
