Set in the heart of Fort Augustus and looking out over the locks of the Caledonian Canal, these beautifully presented holiday apartments make the perfect base for enjoying the village amenities and also for exploring this lovely part of the Highlands. You can sit in the comfort of your living room and watch boats travel through the canal. This pretty village is situated at the southern end of Loch Ness and is close to the Great Glen Way. Lots to see and do for all ages – monster spotting on Loch Ness, boat trips, mountain biking, canoeing, hill walking to name but a few. Take a trip to Fort William, the ’Outdoor Capital of the UK’, or Inverness, the vibrant Highland Capital. A trip to the beautiful Isle of Skye with the dramatic scenery of the west coast should not be missed. Or just relax and watch the ever changing views over the village. Comfortable early 19th century upper flat with parking, overlooking the locks in Fort Augustus. Excellent location for walking the Great Glen Way (which passes the door), New Ember Electric bus route E14, between Inverness and Fort William stops nearby. Eric the manager is very friendly and helpful.

Lock View Upper Flat is in an excellent location and being upstairs, it affords a good view of all the boats going up and down the locks which is very interesting. When we were looking for somewhere to stay in Fort Augustus, we debated about whether to book it or not because it was so much cheaper than some of the other properties there and a lot of the reviews complained about the bed. We are so pleased that we did book it as it was very good value for money. The flat itself was clean and the level of equipment and crockery etc in the kitchen was good, although I would say that the bathroom could do with some refurbishment. The bed was comfortable, but I was glad that we had taken our own pillows. The food in The Lock Inn and The Bothy was tasty and we had some delicious cakes the The Ripples Tearoom. We enjoyed our week up there.

Lovely location great value for money well equipped the Sofa bed was broken and the 2 chairs in the lounge need replacing very uncomfortable.Eric the property manager was very helpful and nothing was to much trouble I mentioned the Sofa bed issue as adult family members we were with had to sleep in the bunkbeds Eric would have sorted the Sofa bed out for us but wasnt an issue really as I said other adults in group happy to sleep in bunk beds. Eric advised the chairs and Sofa bed were damaged by previous people to us.
