There is so much to do and see in the area, visiting castles, whisky trails, craft centres, museums, wildlife parks, nature reserves. Just 8 miles away, is the small Highland village of Fort Augustus on the most southern tip of Loch Ness, and with the Caledonian Canal running through the village to Loch Ness. A wonderful place to relax, watch the boats go through the locks, with many places to eat and drink and shop. Fort William, the outdoor capital of the Highlands, home to the Nevis range ski centre is about a 30-minute drive away. Why not enjoy a day trip by nostalgic steam train from Fort William to Mallaig on the West Coast and take the road or ferry to the magical Isle of Skye?
