A lovely holiday in Ord Cottage - lots of space, great kitchen and comfy beds. The garden was ideal for the dog. Highly recommended.

Ord Cottage was a home from home for us on our holiday. The moment we walked into the cottage we felt a fresh, warm, peaceful welcome. The welcome pack was really outstanding, even including dog treats and poobags. The rooms are all spacious, airy, well equiped and very cosy too. We didn't need to light the log fire - sadly, as it looked so lovely. The location was perfect for both longer and shorter day trips. Two minites walk from the cottage is the Milton Woodland, a fairy-tale wood with a beautiful small river, very dog friendly. I had a trail finder app and there are many walks locally. We spent one day on the Kyle Line train which we joined at Dingwall, only half an hour's drive away. One day we drove a circular route across the Highlands to Scourie. We fitted in other shorter routes daily, and found many places to eat. Although by the road, it was quiet and peaceful and the sitting out area is much nicer than it looks in the photos. There are 2 or 3 different buses on this road, - quiet and not at all disturbing the peace and tranquillity - which could be very handy, although we didnt use them.We had some contact with the owners and they were outstandingly helpful, very friendly yet entirely unobstrusive.
