Guests say

Braewood is a spacious, peaceful cottage set in a stunning Highland location, perfect for wildlife watching and exploring the surrounding area. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, comfort, and beautiful views, with many noting the abundance of deer, hares, and red squirrels. The property is well-equipped and ideal for families, though some mention minor issues with kitchen lighting, oven markings, and lack of information booklets. The remoteness adds to its charm, but limited WiFi and mobile signal may be a consideration. Overall, Braewood offers a relaxing and memorable Highland retreat.

The majority of guests found the cottage very clean and well-maintained, with only rare minor mentions of mould or maintenance needed in bathrooms.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, stunning views, and proximity to wildlife, with easy access to local attractions and the Whitebridge Hotel. Some found it a little hard to find initially, but most felt the remoteness was a positive feature.

Guests describe the cottage as spacious, comfortable, and warm, with good water pressure and plenty of amenities. A few noted the main bed was small for taller guests, but overall comfort was rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen, pool table, and good showers. However, repeated issues with oven markings, kitchen lighting, and lack of information booklets were noted by several guests.

Some guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as toys for children and a surprise from the owners, but these are not guaranteed. The lack of an information booklet and some missing small amenities were mentioned as areas for improvement.

About this property

This detached bungalow is set in a quiet secluded woodland location in the village of Whitebridge, within driving distance of Inverness. This Loch Ness cottage has mature trees bordering the rear of the property and to the front there are lovely uninterrupted views across the fields to the Monadhliath Mountains. This contemporary Loch Ness cottage is well presented and spacious, and is the perfect holiday home to relax in after a day's walking, fishing or cycling. At your Loch Ness cottage there are three bedrooms, one of which has en-suite facilities, a family bathroom, well-equipped kitchen and a sitting room with dining area.

The shores of Loch Ness are only 3 miles away and the road around Loch Ness is a fantastic route to follow. Be sure to stop off at some of the villages en route and to look out for the famous monster! Close by are the Falls of Foyers, Fort Augustus and the famous Urquhart Castle. Naturally the area has an abundance of wildlife and it would not be unusual to see deer passing the window, hares running through the grounds and a wide range of bird life including pheasants and partridges at this Loch Ness cottage. Whether touring the area in a car, taking lovely long walks or cycle rides, fishing for brown trout in the local river or simply relaxing and making the most of the highland atmosphere, you will not be disappointed!

The village of Whitebridge has it's own hotel and is set in a quiet location within the highlands of Scotland. Just three miles away is the larger village of Foyers and Loch Ness is also only a few miles from the village. Inverness with it's many shops, pubs and restaurants is within driving distance.

nice and peaceful. It had everything we needed and more. We saw deer and hares everyday, it was just delightful.

The property itself was clean and well equipped. Fantastic shower in the family bathroom. Only minor downsides were poor lighting in both bathrooms and no 'useful information' book with wifi code, which bin to use etc.
