Witchelm House in Inverness receives high praise for its cleanliness, convenient location, and comfortable amenities. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches such as welcome packs and find the property to be a great base for exploring the Northern Highlands. While some minor suggestions for improvement are noted, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.
The property consistently receives compliments for its cleanliness, with guests describing it as 'spotless' and 'sparkling clean'. There is, however, a single mention of minor cleaning issues which prevents a perfect score.
The location is frequently highlighted as convenient, with easy access to the city centre, supermarkets, and attractions. Some guests mention road noise and the street's busyness, but these are not seen as significant detractions.
Comfort is well-regarded, with guests finding the beds comfy and the house cosy. A few guests mention the beds being short for taller individuals and a desire for more seating, which slightly affects the score.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and large garden. Some guests suggest an increase in cutlery and glassware, and there are isolated comments about maintenance issues like squeaky shower fittings.
Guests frequently express gratitude for the welcome packs, which often include flowers, wine, and chocolates. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is noted that such extras, while delightful, are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Good location close to the centre of Inverness. One down side. Location is not quite as presented, itâs on a relatively busy street and not really set back from the road.

A light and airy house, almost everything you could need. Clean and bright. Comfortable beds. We used the house as a base to travel out from, so didn't spend much time in it, eating out for the most part. Close to the pretty river walks and a pleasant 5 to 15 minute walk to the city centre where most restaurants are situated. A word of warning: if you want to eat out, book your restaurants well ahead of your arrival. All decent restaurants get booked up well ahead. We'd booked well ahead all but 2 nights and we had problems finding somewhere suitable to eat on the 2 unbooked nights. The house is in a built up area close to main roads, but we had almost no noise problems. Parking immediately outside is time limited but a few yards down the road 24hr parking is very easy. 2 large white vans parked illegally outside the house for most of the week, so I don't think parking wardens appear very often! The blinds in the bedrooms were our only issue. I can't sleep unless it's dark. I always bring an eye mask when we go away, just in case, and I was glad I did. If you don't mind a very light bedroom through the night you've no problem. Personally, I'd prefer blackout blinds, but that's just a personal observation. I would recommend this property unreservedly. Thank you!
