The surrounding area is a nature lover’s paradise, with several lochs close by offering excellent fishing and bird-watching opportunities, and much indigenous flora and fauna. Inverness 17 miles. Property, had no hot water, although host provided an alternative solution and compensated us with the electricity costs. Fantastic outdoor space. Could use a little modernisation although this wasn't an issue to us. The property has an Aga which heats the property around the kitchen area, which was fantastic, however, having not used an Aga before, cooking a meal for 8 people was a challenge. Insufficient storage space in the kitchen was an issue, as was the two slice toaster that only one side worked on. Would benefit from an air fryer. Wi-Fi was hit and miss but mainly miss. The worse thing for me, we filtered our search to pub within 1 mile - this pub must have closed years ago but the listing hasn't been updated - I am glad we stayed here, but if the listing was up to date we would never have seen the property. Area around is great, a good base to tour around from, lovely hosts who did their best to rectify the water but were continually let down. None of the above ruined our stay, but could be so much better with minimal investment and an updated listing.

This place is fab if you’re looking to get a bit of peace and quiet, nothing but wildlife. It’s also great to use as a base for exploring the highlands, lovely comfortable house with a fantastic setting.

We've been coming to this property for 6 or 7 years now and, sad to say, nothing ever seems to be repaired or maintained. Outdated, dirty fittings and ripped curtains, old, holey bedding, broken lamp, broken ceiling light, elderly storage heaters with no heating in the living room except an expensive plug in convector or open fireplace that smokes. And the outside store partially collapsed when we opened it.The lack of a safe outside enclosure for dogs means you cannot simply open the door and let your dog out. There are sheep in adjoining fields.No, we won't be back now.
