Kincraig 2 miles. A wonderful detached cottage in rural woodland on the edge of the village of Insh, just 2 miles from the Highland village of Kincraig. Lovingly decorated and furnished, this Kincraig cottage has been built in an eco-friendly style using some of the stone from the original cottage on the site, which means that the walls are up to a foot and a half thick in places. South facing, with open views across the fields and hills where you can see buzzards and deer, this Kincraig cottage is full of light and is ideal for a family holiday in the rugged and beautiful Cairngorms National Park. At this Kincraig cottage there are three bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, offering flexibility and choice for the whole family. The living accommodation at this Kincraig cottage is enhanced by the open fire which means that you can curl up on chilly evenings with a warming drink and reflect on your day's activities. Outside this Kincraig cottage is a large enclosed garden, perfect for the children to let off steam, and is just a two minute walk to Manse Bay on the shore of Loch Insh where you can see whooper swans and many other water birds and is a wonderful place to have a dram of whisky and watch the sun go down. The building itself is so beautifully designed and in pretty well the perfect location for local walks and some of the big hills too (not that we did any this time - too windy!). I have recommended it to friends in the past and will continue to do so.

Beautiful to see deer & raptors from the window. Cosy inside with comfy beds & lovely bedrooms. Lounge furniture looking a little âweatheredâ. Check in straightforward & friendly. We could not find a welcome pack nor comprehensive guide on how to use everything nor how to leave the property on check out. TVs had v limited freesat & WiFi was weak (not an issue if out & about but if it rains, could be an issue with kids or, in our case, kids with special needs). As mentioned in another review, we messaged owner about waste disposal, message was âreadâ on WhatsApp but we never received response. Worth every penny for the location alone.
